Elder Seljaas on his 19th birthday…makes you love those people who make your children cakes and are so good to our boys! I love South American culture!

It is pretty fun here in Peru. Especially because I’m living like a millionaire with hot water and carpet. This is the first time that I have seen carpet in Peru. Only in my room and in the temple. Also we have a hot water knob and a cold water knob in the shower, I forgot that existed.

I am about an hour away from the mission home. I am at the border of Lima South. My stake center is the offices of Lima South. Also my companion lived like five minutes from the temple that is being built in Tujillo so that is pretty cool.

So we had to postpone the baptism until April. It was kind of sad, but it’s alright. We also are working with a returned missionary and his daughter who went inactive because of work. His daughter isn’t baptized. So we will work with them. The work here in the area is kind of slow, but there have been some good missionaries here so when I came there were people to work with. Most of them have already been baptized.

It sounds like the sports life is going pretty good. I kind of miss march madness, but not really. It is weird to think about sports especially because I have no idea what is going on. Be careful with the healthy food it will get you fat. I eat nothing healthy here. I don’t know if it exists. Also every house we go to offers us soda and they get offended if we don’t accept it. So I am super out of shape and I might be getting a little fat. Oh well hopefully someday I will be ripped.

Life here is going pretty good. I got the package you guys sent me and the zit cream is already working pretty well. Also I already finished eating all the sweets. My companion ate a lot too. Also I like my area right now because there is a member that always comes with us so we can teach more people. So that is cool.

Also right now I am excited because General conference is coming up. That is Christmas for a missionary. So that should be fun. Also it sounds like school is coming to an end at home. Just a couple months left. Wow that is crazy. They will be leaving on their missions soon. Hopefully someone will come to my mission. I do have Elder Anderson though. We always talk about life when we see each other.

Well good luck with all that is going on at home. Know that I am doing awesome here in an area that has KFC, Pizza Hut and McDonalds. I might spend a little more money here jaja. I still haven’t used my card though. I don’t think I will. 30 bucks a month from the mission is good enough.

Love,

Elder Seljaas

Elder Tim Seljaas transferred to Surco Vista Alegre Peru…

Well this was a good week and I am now happy to be in my new area, Vista Alegre in Surco. It is one of the richest areas in the mission. We cant knock doors because they only have the telecom thing on the door. So that is kind of wierd. It is a lot different the work here but it is awesome. So I am super happy to be here. The area is a little difficult, but there have been a lot of good missionaries here before so the area is pretty strong. Hopefully I can keep it up.

So that is how life is. My companion is Elder Risco from Peru. He is super cool and he says hes good at soccer.  Also the room is awesome. My shower even has a hot water and a cold water tab. I think it might be the only one in the mission. Also we have carpet in our room with a microwave and a fridge. We have a three room apartment. So that is quite a change from living in Chosica where my whole room was smaller then our living room. Also I have hot water for the first time in my mission. Im not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing jaja.

My new companion is Elder Risco. He is from Peru and has 3 months on the mission. Im pretty excited because he is my 4th Peruvian companion. Ive liked all my Peruvian comanions too so Im excited for the transfer. Also we are the only pair of missionaries in our ward. Im not used to that either. Our area is pretty big. I still get lost jaja it will take a while to figure this area out. Anyway that is how life is going right now.

Right now in the mission I have hit kind of a turning point. A ton of missionaries went home with the last transfers and a lot of them were leaders in the mission. So right now the mission is super young. Also in a couple of transfers a ton more will go home.

That is crazy to hear about sports. I wouldnt even recognize the Eagles anymore. Hopefully Chip Kelly knows what hes doing. Oh well I dont have to worry about that for a while. Also that is cool to hear about the Jazz hopefully they will be a good team next year. Well thanks for everything and know that life is awesome here in the mission. I am now in my third area and I love it.

So that is cool to hear about life at home. Also cool to hear how Kyle is doing in his boring married life jaja. Well just to let you know mom life is awesome and the mission is going well. Let me know about life at home and all the mission calls. I guess Kelli gets her call soon. Hopefully she comes to Peru. So keep me updated on all of that.
 Love you mom
